Please give our Khmer Community your opinion and reason if you agree or not agree to allow Thai movies here.

hey every one there is nothing wrong to watch thai movies even they are try to still our land or something els dozen mean that we cant wath it .

Well i guess there is nothing wrong with that, although 'Khmer People'
is highly supporting their movies, and they are making allot of money
out of it. Not many 'Khmer' people r supporting their own kind, and therefore
we have less video to produce, don't get me wrong each and everyone is
different in their own perspectives, and as for me 'Khmer People' comes first
before i go to the next- (party). Even though sometimes 'we' don't make or direct
the best movies like others, but hey what the heck i still love it, and i will still keep
on supporting them, and will always have video to upload and share with each and
everyone here. not only at KhmerCO, but across the entire 'Khmer Network'.

I think Movie and political should be differentiated.. just like sport and political. Basically, a proper movie is nothing to do with political. To be very optimistic, I come into two conclusions:
THe reasons why Thai movies should be allowed:
- Allows Khmer to see the more developed kind of movie industry, as well as the Thai society (U would have never defeated Ur enemy, if u don't know how r they like)
- Create some kind of competitive effort from Khmer movie industry to kick out Thai movies (unlikely happen)

The reason why Thai movies should not be allowed:
- As most of Khmer people are easily influenced by foreigner culture (in my personal view), it will be the bads for Khmer to watch Thai movie. Example, when Thai movie was banned, and the Khmer movie started to born again during 2001, there were some nice looking actors and actress in the new born khmer movies, and people don't believe they are Khmer even the fact they are khmer and acting in Khmer movie. Some even said Khmer actors and actress had no such nice looking face... I myself heard it clearly with my two ears.
- it will be less chances for Khmer movie industry to grow further, probably just collapse once Thai movies are allowed.
- It is not only an option for Khmer to bring in Thai movies to entertain Khmer people. Chinese, Taiwanese, Singapore movies may be the alternative to Thai since the taste of the movie are about the same.
- I saw a few Khmer tv programs are copying from Thai. I think it would be better if Khmer tv progamme producers can modify or copy the better show from the other countries, it may not necessary be Asian countries but Western countries such USA. The idea is to create more TV shows which is both entertaining and knowledgeable to Khmer people.
- Disallowing Thai movie to come in means to stand our feet against Thai, perhaps someday this will force Thai movie industry to cooperate with Khmer industry (improve our movie industry in term of technology and experience) as Thai can earn both psychological and financially benefit from exporting Thai movie to Khmer.

NO Absolutely NO we "khmer people" should not support "those" neighbors who show no respect to us! for centuries Thai people look down on us and degrading us. Thai people especially the actor and actress saying that the famous Angkor Wat is theirs or the other temple they want and since they can't have it they are destroying it... Freaking Thai people need grow up and go back to school and re-learn their history and look at all the documentation!!!!

It is not really want to see the real movies but we can see what that Thai take from Khmer and confirming that all those are belong to Thai.

One Thai professoer acknowleged that Thai has copied the "HAMOK" អាម៉ុក​ from Khmer that is very Popular in Thailand but as you know, Thai people still tsating that This Food is belong to Thailand, "SIC"
So, if you can is better but necessary for Entertainment.

it just a movie folk... not necessary have to fight over culture or who is taking over our country...after all it just an entertaiment... we dont want to sound like we r racism now r we?....
